47 Miles to Jacumba ......

Our days start out by having breakfast around 7 AM, then carrying our luggage to the support vehicle (which carries our luggage to the next destination-- the kitchen where all the food is prepared is in the back half of the vehicle). We then start our ride. Today's ride was incredibly difficult because of the amount of climbing we did, approximately 5000', but also the wind gusts were brutal. The woman with whom I was riding was actually knocked off her bike. We were close to the Mexican border and I'll post a picture of the border fence. The day started out cool, but ended up in the high 70s.

  1. You'd better fasten your seatbelt! Is Jacumba in CA? What were you climbing? How many hours on the bike? Did you also descend 5000' feet?
