49 Miles to Globe, AZ........

It was another glorious day for a ride. In years past they have had to shuttle the riders past snow and ice on the road. Not today. When I pulled into Globe today, it was 67 degrees and beautiful. It was cool enough that we didn't suffer on the climbs. And there was a lot of climbing.
We left Gold Canyon at 1900' and climbed to approx. 4500', but then there would be a downhill and we would have to climb up again. We also had to ride through a tunnel (you'll see the entrance in two of the pictures) that was a little intimidating because of the traffic, but it was only 1/3 mile.
We're going to a Mexican restaurant next to the hotel for dinner tonight. I'm not sure what time Andrew will be arriving because he's finishing up in Tucson. I heard that he got onto the podium after his 3-day stage race there.
Someone who read my blog asked me about shopping for some souvenirs for people at home. I'm definitely not doing that because they weigh our luggage before we start and along the way. We can have 2 bags, but a total of 50 pounds only. Neither bag can weigh more than 30 pounds. So if anyone is waiting for a souvenir, forget about it.
