Again, the weather was good today, although overcast, but a very comfortable temperature for riding.
The terrain has flattened out considerably and you could ride for miles without having to change gears. The women who are good at flat terrain and downhills are in their glory.
I rode with Sandy, from CA., today. She is also my roommate tonight. She still holds the record for the 100 yd. dash at the college she attended over 40 years ago. She does a lot of quilting, she teaches line dancing and she is a Parks and Recreation Commisioner for the city of Dixon.
There was a lot of logging truck traffic for the first half of our ride today. We were told to look down and squint when those trucks go by because pieces of sawdust can fly in your eye. The good news was that it smelled like Christmas when they passed.
We've been seeing a lot of Baptist churches along our route, so I'm guessing we're in the Bible Belt.
Many of us have been chased by dogs. I don't understand why the dog owners don't have fences or put their dogs on leashes because some of these roads are busy and I'd hate to see their dog hit by a car.
Our hotel is questionable tonight. I try not to look too closely. You probably guessed that the pic is Sandy.
