Tomorrow is a rest day and there isn't much going on in this town, population just over 7,000.
I'm going to share a poem with you that was written by Sheila, a woman on the trip from Scotland. I'll post the pic I took of her even though I already have. She is the shorter of the two women.
May the road rise up to greet us
And the wind be always at our backs.
May the traffic lights be green, not red
And the SAG drivers cheerful and keep us fed.
May the trucks be tiny and keep away
And the dogs be friendly come what may.
May there be no punctures - or flats to you
As many of us know not what to do.
May the miles roll by without a hitch
And no one end up in a ditch.
May we have fun and joy and laughter
And get to Florida happy ever after.
Sheila
Whoa, slow down-I've got to catch up-I just covered Texas in 15 minutes but it took you 8 days and 414 miles! Thank you for pictures of green and the bluebonnets- I'm glad you got to see them in bloom this time.I think it's the state flower. We are nearly out of snow-mostly holed up in shady spots beside a building or big piles in shopping parking lots. And still on the chilly side, but improving overall. You bikers do have a alternative definition of recovery-riding 50 miles?!?! Some recovery!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work Jeanne! Such an adventure. You rock!
